The Coast

The Yorkshire coast is very popular with visitors, and has something for everyone. Just 12 miles north east of Driffield is the bustling seaside town of Bridlington – the largest of the coastal towns of East Yorkshire, which is flanked by miles of golden sands.

Families flock to Bridlington and nearby Hornsea in the summer months to enjoy the unspoilt beaches, whilst nature-lovers head for the towering chalk cliffs of Bemtpon (one of the largest RSPB sites in the UK).

Flamborough, Sewerby, and Fraisthorpe are all easily accessible within around 20 minutes by car. All three places offer stunning views up and down the coastline; Flamborough – with its iconic clifftop lighthouses – has unrivalled views to the north and south, Sewerby – located at the northern end of Bridlington town – is a popular place for visitors to take in the view of Bridlington bay from the grassy parkland in front of Sewerby Hall, and Fraisthorpe – with its wide expanse of beach, popular for power kites, looks up to the gentle curve of Bridlington bay from the south.
