Town Centre Steering Group
In addition to the day-to-day services provided by Driffield Town Council, here is a sample of some of the innovative projects Driffield Town Council Steering Group have delivered.
Steering Group
The Town Centre Steering group consists of independent high street businesses and shops that come together regularly to discuss current issues that face Driffield.
Working closely with Driffield Town Council and ERYC, the steering group devises projects such as the ‘Umbrella Plaza’ that support the vitality of the high street.

High Street Strategy
DTC, in collaboration with ERYC, commissioned a high street study to understand issues associated with trading in Driffield. Although the study work originated pre-COVID-19, the output was developed to inform a pandemic ‘bounce-back’ plan for Driffield.
The Retail Group were contracted to undertake research in late 2020, with the results reported in January 2021 to DTC and the Town Centre Steering Group (made up of a number of independent Driffield business owners).

A detailed action plan was then created by DTC and the High Street Steering Group, and initiatives were implemented from March 2021 through to the current date. In 2024, the strategy will be revisited and, where necessary, updated.
Loyalty Card
The Discover Driffield Loyalty Card scheme is designed to reward people for shopping locally in Driffield.
If a business chooses, it can create its own offers available only to Loyalty Card holders.
Shoppers can get their free Driffield Loyalty Card with a unique membership number from Driffield Town Council or participating businesses (see Partners page).
This can then be used in participating Driffield shops and businesses. When used, the membership number will be entered into a monthly prize draw.
Discover Driffield Partners
Over 100 local businesses have signed up to the Discover Driffield Partner Scheme, where you can spend the gift vouchers.
Discover Driffield Vouchers make the perfect gift for friends and family, as well as prizes or employee incentives. These vouchers encourage people to shop locally and support independent high street shops.
You can purchase them at the Driffield Town Council offices located at 2-4 Market Walk, the Driffield & Wolds Weekly office, or by clicking the link below.
Vouchers are available in denominations of £10 and can be redeemed at over 100 local independent businesses.
