Update on Lockdown Trading in Driffield

We are aware that during the Current lockdown, due to government guidelines, some of the our businesses in Driffield may evolve the way in which they trade – whether it’s reduced hours or providing services differently.

The information below has been provided to us by businesses and is kept updated as best as we can but we would urge you to contact the specific business before making any arrangements.

Update 05/01/2021

Shops

Central Computers – All current repairs will be honoured and repaired ready for one of our click and collect days. Unfortunately we cannot take in any new repairs during the lockdown.

F Waites – As an essential business we continue to trade through the current restrictions. Our opening hours will be Monday to Friday 7am til 4.30pm and Saturday 8.30am – 12 noon

Gardenwood – are operating a Click & Collect service

Kiplingcotes Furniture – Our shop will be closed from Tuesday 5th January. The delivery service is still be operating fully adhering to the guidelines and with the correct PPE & we ask all customers to adhere to social distancing guidelines too. You you can also click and collect from us if you prefer. We will have staff to give assistance and take orders via our website and social media platforms (including WhatsApp) as well as the telephone.

Olive Tree – To still be able to provide you our lovely treatments and products we will be limiting our opening times during January and asking that you please ring to make an appointment or order products to reduce visitors to a minimum to keep us all safe.

Sokells – In light of current restrictions, we’re sorry to say that Sokells will be closed until further notice. If customers have any orders awaiting collection we will contact you.

The Bike Cave is open for business with our newly expanded workshop (Cafe remains closed).  Our opening times are as below, no need to book just bring your bike down or call to check workshop space.   Monday – CLOSED, Tuesday -10am till 3pm, Wednesday -10am till 3pm, Thursday -10am till 3pm, Fri -10am till 3pm, Saturday – 10am till 3pm, Sunday – CLOSED

The Little Book Emporium – we are doing a click and collect service on all our books with free local contactless delivery.

Driffield Town Council – below is a summary of changes to services operated by DTC during lockdown:

• The public conveniences at Cross Hill and North Street will remain OPEN
• St Margaret’s Close Play Area will be OPEN
• Thursday Market will remain OPEN with food stands ONLY
• The Town Council offices will remain CLOSED however the clerk can be contacted on 07850060685 or townclerk@driffieldtowncouncil.gov.uk. We are also responsive on our Social Media channels.
• The Tidy Team will continue with their duties as well as street cleansing and removal of the Christmas light displays early in January.
• There will be no New Year Scrambling event and the proposed replacement Scrambling Trail is POSTPONED.
• The Town Council would encourage everyone to continue to SHOP LOCAL whenever possible.   Many of our independent shops have an on line presence and delivery service so please before you click on Amazon, #DiscoverDriffield and see if you can support a local business through this difficult time.

East Riding Libraries – continue to offer an Order and Collect service throughout lockdown. You can order books online by logging into your library account here http://orlo.uk/RF09R or phone your nearest library or mobile stop http://orlo.uk/QKJk4.  Books can be collected from any East Riding Library or mobile which is convenient to you, to avoid unnecessary journeys.

Central Computers have setup a click and collect service for products for Christmas or office work during lockdown. Not all products are online yet but more are getting added each day. Co-Zee cafe is open for take aways. We are offering our normal menu plus meal deals and our take away platters (please allow 24 hours notice for the platters). We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturdays 10-2 during the lockdown. We are also taking orders for Christmas dinners to be collected or delivered on the 23rd December. We take orders over the phone, pop in or through our Facebook page.

Woldsway to Health Are currently closed until the 2nd December due to the terms of the current Lockdown. However, we are working with our members via the medium of Facebook in particular running our classes on Facebook Live. We have a private members page and working with members on a 121 basis. First Aid Box are classed as an educational facility offering an essential service and therefore permitted to continue trading. We have a COVID secure environment and are only offering regulated training to essential service groups.
