The Town Council took over the running of the public conveniences in 2003 when ERYC decided to close those situated next to North End Park. The Town Council lease the buildings from ERYC and financed a complete refurbishment in 2006. The public conveniences at Cross Hill and North End are open daily from 8.00am to 5.00pm.
