COVID-19 & Driffield Town Council

Driffield town council logo

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Market Walk offices are closed to the public.  If you need to speak to us please ring 07850060685 or 01377 254160 (ext 2) or email townclerk@driffieldtowncouncil.gov.uk.

The Town Council and their committees are continuing to meet via Zoom.

In the months since COVID we have worked closely with the ERYC and Helping Driffield COVID 19 Group to alleviate the issues that this pandemic have presented not just our residents, but now the re-opening of the high street and journey back to economic recovery.

The market reopened in June and is thriving.

The Credit Union have now returned to our Market Walk offices and can be accessed with all necessary precautions in place, on Thursdays from 9.30am to 12.00pm.

Many of our regular activities, such as the summer hanging baskets and events have been curtailed or cancelled, but we have not rested on our laurels.  Our priorities have diverted and we are adapting to fresh challenges and demands.  We have recently taken on our third operative and now have in place a regular and pragmatic street cleansing regime, prioritising the town centre to ensure that the streets are clean, free of litter, weeds, cigarette ends and dog fouling so our residents and visitors can be confident of an enjoyable, safe and clean place to shop and enjoy our lovely array of cafes, restaurants and pubs.

In addition to our third operative, we have also welcomed a new External Funding Officer, and look forward to making real progress with many much needed projects.  More to follow.
