If so, and you meet the eligibility criteria, why not consider standing for co-option onto Driffield Town Council? We currently have two vacancies for Driffield West Ward.
We are a very forward thinking and active council that work hard to promote and progress the social, economic, environmental and cultural wellbeing of Driffield and Little Driffield.
We request that applicants submit a written application of no more than 500 words explaining who you are, why you would like to join the council, aspects of the community that are of particular interest and what qualities, skills and expertise would you bring. Applications can be emailed to townclerk@driffieldtowncouncil.gov.uk or posted to Driffield Town Council 1-4 Market Walk Driffield YO25 6BW by Wednesday June 26th 2019 at 4.00pm.
Co-option will take place on Tuesday July 2nd 2019 at 7.30pm in the Council Chamber at the Community Centre Mill Street Driffield, where you will asked to address council for no more three minutes to expand on your written submission.
Are you eligible?
You must be 18 or over
Live in Driffield or within 3 miles or be an owner or tenant of land/premises within Driffield or Driffield be your sole place of work all of which must have been for 12 months prior to the 2nd July 2019. (you do not need to live within West Ward)
Disqualification includes being subject to a bankruptcy order or convicted of an offence that warranted imprisonment (including suspended) for more than three months within 5 years of 2nd July 2019.
